The Washington Parish School Board met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Dan Slocum, Bruce Brown, Kendall McKenzie, John Wyble, Lesley McKinley, Robert Boone, Alan McCain, Dewitt Perry and Frankie Crosby. Absent: None
Agenda Item #1 - Call to order
The meeting was called to order by President John Wyble.
Agenda Item #2 – Invocation
The invocation was given by Bruce Brown.
Agenda Item #3 – Pledge of Allegiance
Agenda Item #4 – Consider a motion to adopt the minutes of the June 13, 2019, regular board meeting (John Wyble).
It was moved by Frankie Crosby, seconded by Dan Slocum, that the Board adopt the minutes of the June 13, 2019, regular board meeting as submitted to each member. Motion carried unanimously.
Agenda Item #5 – Test Results – Katie Miller (Darrell Fairburn).
Katie Miller, Coordinator of Testing and Accountability, presented the test results at the Committee Meeting on Monday night.
Agenda Item #6 – Recognition of local hospitals – Shane Smith (Darrell Fairburn).
Shane Smith, Coordinator of Support Services, presented plaques to Dr. Gabby Givens, Our Lady of the Angels and Peter Sullivan, Riverside Medical Center for their support of the students of the Washington Parish School System.
The Board thanked both hospitals and staff for their support.
Agenda Item #7 – Presentation from LSU Ag Center – Henry Harrison (Darrell Fairburn).
Henry Harrison expressed to the Board his gratitude of their support of the LSU Ag programs. Mr. Harrison stated that he would be returning to retirement and advised the Board of his replacements.
Agenda Item #8 – Presentation of May 2019 financial statements (Lacy Burris).
Lacy Burris, Director of Finance, presented the May 2019 financial statements at the Monday night committee meeting for the following funds:
General Fund
School Lunch Fund
Tax District #4 Bond Sinking Fund
Agenda Item #9 – Discuss and take appropriate action regarding bids received for garbage disposal services (Lacy Burris).
It was moved by Alan McCain, seconded by Dewitt Perry, that the Board accept the proposal from AmWaste. Motion carried unanimously.
Agenda Item #10 – Discuss and take appropriate action regarding the non-certified salary schedule (Lacy Burris).
It was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded by Alan McCain, that the Board approve the non-certified salary schedule as follows:

Agenda Item #11 – Discuss and take appropriate action regarding dress code at FHS – Renee Burris (Darrell Fairburn).
It was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded by Alan McCain, that the Board approve the dress code changes at FHS for a one year pilot program. Approved shirt colors: purple, gold and gray.

It was moved by Frankie Crosby, seconded by Alan McCain, that the Board adopt revised Washington Parish School Board Policy File: JGCF – Behavioral Health Services for Students. Motion carried unanimously.

Shane Smith, Coordinator of Support Services, updated the Board on the numerous ongoing construction projects at all of the schools.
Agenda Item #15 - Personal Privileges – School Board Members
The Board congratulated Cherie Fitzmorris on her contract renewal.
Scott Breland, Plainview Baptist Church Pastor, thanked the school system for the summer feeding program that provided lunches to area churches during their vacation bible school programs.
