The Washington Parish School Board recognizes the necessity to deploy and develop a highly trained and coordinated staff dedicated to the proposition of maintaining and constantly improving the educational program in the School System.  Additionally, the Board recognizes its responsibility for promoting the general welfare of the staff. With this in mind, the Board's general Personnel Service goals are:


  1. To deploy the most qualified personnel available and insure that they are utilized as effectively and efficiently as possible within budgetary constraints.

  2. To develop the quality of human relations necessary to obtain maximum staff performance and satisfaction.

  3. To develop satisfactory and appropriate means for staff participation in the decision‑making process and to continually improve communication within the school district.

  4. To develop and manage a staff compensation and benefits program sufficient to attract and retain qualified employees.

  5. To conduct an orientation program adequate to meet the need for acquainting new personnel with the educational program and methods of operation within the district as well as acquainting such personnel with available system level, local school and community resources.

  6. To conduct an employee appraisal program that will contribute to the continuous improvement of staff  performance.

  7. To provide an in-service training and comprehensive staff development program for all employees which will improve their rates of performance, retention and promotion.


Washington Parish School Board
