ELECTION OF SCHOOL BOARD OFFICERS

At the first meeting after election, the new Washington Parish School Board shall organize and elect its officers from its own members.  The officers shall be elected in the following order: President and Vice­-President.  Each officer shall serve for a period of two (2) years.  Voting for any of the above mentioned officers shall continue until a clear majority is received.  From outside the Board membership, committees may be appointed to serve for such as the Board may deem wise.  Vacancies in the above mentioned offices occurring during the year shall be filled by the Board in accordance with state law.
