The Washington Parish School Board met in special session on the above date with the following members present: President Harold Smith, Karl Bickham, Holly James, Susanne Jones, Hayward Boone, Richard N. Thomas, Bruce Brown, and Freddie Jefferson. Absent: Juanita Barker.
Agenda Item #1 - Call to order.
The meeting was called to order by President Smith.
Agenda Item #2 - Invocation.
The invocation was given by Bruce Brown.
Agenda Item #3 - Pledge of Allegiance.
Agenda Item #4 - Make personnel adjustments at Wesley Ray Elementary School and take appropriate action regarding the same.
Superintendent Fowler read a letter of resignation from Charles Wayne Penton, Principal, Wesley Ray Elementary School, effective May 25, 1998. It was moved by Freddie Jefferson, seconded by Holly James, that the Board accept the resignation of Charles Wayne Penton, Principal, Wesley Ray Elementary School, effective May 25, 1998. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Susanne Jones, seconded by Bruce Brown, that the Board authorize advertisement for the position of Principal, Wesley Ray Elementary School. Motion carried unanimously. Advertising dates in the Era-Leader will be June 3, 10, & 17, 1998. Applications will be accepted June 1, 1998, through June 18, 1998, at 4:30 P.M. Interviews will be conducted at the regularly scheduled board meeting on June 25, 1998.
It was moved by Hayward Boone, seconded by Freddie Jefferson, that the Board authorize and instruct Annie Moses, Faculty Coordinator, Wesley Ray Elementary School, to administer the academic and fiscal affairs of Wesley Ray Elementary School, until a full time principal is selected and authorized to assume those responsibilities. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Hayward Boone, seconded by Karl Bickham, that the Board ratify the action of the Superintendent, who instructed the Fiscal Agent Bank to honor the signature of Annie Moses, Faculty Coordinator, Wesley Ray Elementary School, for withdrawal authority on accounts related to Wesley Ray Elementary School, and to remove the withdrawal authority of Wayne Penton on that same group of accounts, effective May 25, 1998. Motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Karl Bickham, seconded by Susanne Jones, that the Board adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
