The Washington Parish School Board met in emergency session on the above date with the following members present: President Bringier H. Barker, Karl Bickham, Hayward Boone, Susanne Jones, Harold Smith, Richard N. Thomas, Bruce Brown and Freddie Jefferson. Absent: Holly James.
Agenda Item #1 - Meeting called to order.
The meeting was called to order by President Barker. Invocation was given by Bruce Brown.
Agenda Item #2 - Discuss and take appropriate action concerning the possibility of closing school Wednesday, May 10, 1995, to allow employees to attend a rally at the State Capitol in support of a 5% pay raise.
Following a lengthy discussion, it was moved by Hayward Boone, seconded by Richard N. Thomas, that the Board close all schools and the central office on Wednesday, May 10, 1995, to allow employees to attend a rally at the State Capitol in support of a 5% pay raise. Roll Call Vote was as follows:
District I - Harold Smith FOR
District 2 - Karl Bickham. FOR
District 3 - Bruce Brown FOR
District 4 - Richard N. Thomas FOR
District 5 - Hayward Boone FOR
District 6 - Susanne Jones FOR
District 7 - Holly James ABSENT
District 8 - B. H. Barker FOR
District 9 - Freddie Jefferson FOR
Motion carried unanimously. Superintendent Coleman stated that this day would not have to be made up.

It was moved by Freddie Jefferson, seconded by Hayward Boone, that the Board adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
