The Washington Parish School board met in special session on the above date with the following members present: President Bob D. Bateman, Jimmie Corkern, John Dawsey, Jr., Harold Smith, Bringier H. Barker, Susanne Jones, Richard N. Thomas, and Elaine Whaley. Absent: None.
The meeting was called to order by President Bateman. Invocation was given by John Dawsey.
Agenda Item #1 - Consider and approve contract for the position of Superintendent
School Board Attorney Wayne Kuhn briefly reviewed the proposed contract that he had drafted. Upon the recommendation of President Bateman, it was moved by B. H. Barker, seconded by Harold Smith, that the Board call Mr. Robert Coleman as Superintendent of the Washington Parish School System effective July 1, 1994, under the terms and conditions set forth in the written contract drafted by the Board's attorney. Motion carried unanimously. (See Attached Contract)
Upon the recommendation of President Bateman, it was moved by Harold Smith, seconded by John Dawsey, that the Board authorize Board President Bob D. Bateman to execute the contract on behalf of the Board. Motion carried unanimously.
Agenda Item #2 - Appointment of Interim Superintendent
Upon the recommendation of President Bateman, it was moved by John Dawsey, seconded by Susanne Jones, that the Board appoint Mr. Robert Coleman Interim Superintendent beginning June 8, 1994, and ending June 30, 1994. Motion carried unanimously.
Upon the recommendation of President Bateman, it was moved by Susanne Jones, seconded by Harold Smith, that the Board authorize Mr. Robert Coleman to sign checks on behalf of the Washington Parish School System effective June 8, 1994. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by John Dawsey, seconded by Harold Smith, that the Board adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
