PURSUANT TO LA. R.S. 42:19.1

NOTICE OF CONSIDERATION OF ACTION REGARDING AD VALOREM TAX

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Parish School Board of the Parish of Washington, State of Louisiana, acting as the governing authority of School District No. 2 of the Parish of Washington, State of Louisiana (the “District”) will meet on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 6:00 p.m., at the Washington Parish School Board Office Building, 800 Main Street, Franklinton, Louisiana, at which time there will be consideration of action regarding the calling of a special election to authorize the continuation of the levy and collection of an existing ad valorem tax dedicated to constructing, acquiring, improving, maintaining and operating schools and school related facilities for the public schools of the District, and providing equipment and furnishings therefor.

Ms. Knight presented the September 2023 financial statements for the following funds:

School Lunch Fund

Tax District #4 Bond Sinking Fund

  1. Consider a motion to approve the second allocations to schools for the 2023/2024 operations budget

Upon reentering Regular Session, a motion was made in the matter of Sonya Colvin Hebert OBO Minor Son, ET AL v Washington Parish School Board, ET AL, Case No 117499, Division D, 22nd Judicial District Court, Parish of Washington, State of Louisiana, wherein the Board authorizes entering into a settlement agreement with the plaintiff in accordance with the terms of the mediation agreement.
