The Washington Parish School Board met in special session on the above date with the following members present: John Wyble, Bruce Brown, Kendall McKenzie, Frankie Crosby, Alan McCain, Dewitt Perry, Robert Boone and Lesley McKinley. Absent: Dan Slocum.
Agenda Item #1 - Call to order
The meeting was called to order by President John Wyble.

The invocation was given by Frankie Crosby.
Agenda Item #3 – Pledge of Allegiance
Agenda Item #4 – Consider a motion to adopt a Redistricting Plan including public input (John Wyble).
Buddy Jenkins, Redistricting Consultant, was in attendance at tonight’s meeting for any further questions from the Board or public. After discussion, it was moved by Kendall McKenzie, seconded by Frankie Crosby, that the Board adopt Plan E for redistricting. There was several in attendance at tonight’s meeting. Several asked questions and made statements concerning the redistricting plans. A roll call vote was taken:

OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE WASHINGTON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD
A regular meeting of the Washington Parish School Board, with its principal place of business in Franklinton, Washington Parish, Louisiana, was held on May 19, 2022 at 6:00 P.M., with a quorum present. On motion of Dewitt Perry, seconded by Alan McCain, the following resolution was adopted the vote thereupon resulted as follows: YEAS 6; NAYS 2; ABSENT 1:

RESOLUTION OF THE WASHINGTON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD TO PROVIDE FOR THE REAPPORTIONMENT OF SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION DISTRICTS OF THE WASHINGTON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD
AFTER THE 2020 FEDERAL CENSUS IN COMPLIANCE WITH STATE LAW
WHEREAS, applicable Federal and State law, particularly, La. R.S. 33:1411 and La. R.S. 18:1921, et seq., require that following every decennial census, the Washington Parish School Board is to examine its apportionment plan to determine if there exists any substantial variation in the representation of the School Board Election Districts; and
WHEREAS, based upon the 2020 Federal Census, there exists such a variation in the representation of the School Board Election Districts as to require reapportionment; and
WHEREAS, public meetings have been held for comment and discussion of various apportionment plans.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the new apportionment plan of the existing nine (9) School Board Election Districts for Washington Parish, Louisiana, identified as Plan E is in accordance with the metes and bounds description of each election district, attached hereto as "Attachment A" and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this reapportionment plan shall be made effective for qualifying on July 20, 21 and 22, 2022 for the next election dates of November 8, 2022 and December 10, 2022 and for all other purposes on January 1, 2023.

It was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded by Alan McCain that the Board adopt the Resolution for Plan E. Motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Robert Boone, seconded Kendall McKenzie that the Board adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
