The Washington Parish School Board met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: Bruce Brown, Robert Boone, Kendall McKenzie, Lesley McKinley, Dewitt Perry and Frankie Crosby. Absent: John Wyble, Alan McCain and Dan Slocum.
Agenda Item #1 - Call to order
The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Lesley McKinley.
Agenda Item #2 – Invocation
The invocation was given by Bruce Brown.
Agenda Item #3 – Pledge of Allegiance
Agenda Item #4 - Presentation on June 2020 financial statements (Lacy Burris).
Lacy Burris, Director of Finance, presented the June 2020 financial statements for the following funds:
General Fund
School Lunch Fund
Tax District #4 Bond Sinking Fund
Agenda Item #5 – Discuss and take appropriate action on the sale of the former Varnado Elementary School property (Lacy Burris).
George LeBlanc and Heather Seal realtors with Keller Williams discussed the sale of the former Varnado Elementary School and recommended we list the property at a selling price of $250,000.00.
It was moved by Robert Boone, seconded by Frankie Crosby, that the Board accept the recommendation from Keller Williams and list the sale of the former Varnado Elementary School property at a selling price of $250,000.00. Motion carried. Lesley McKinley abstained from the vote.
Agenda Item #6 – Discuss and take appropriate action regarding the revised 2020/2021 school year calendar (Frances Varnado).
It was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded by Kendall McKenzie, that the Board adopt the revised 2020/2021 school year calendar as follows:
