The Washington Parish School Board met in special session on the above date with the following members present: Dan Slocum, John Wyble, Bruce Brown, John Breland, Matthew Tate, Alan McCain, Dewitt Perry and Lesley McKinley.  Absent: Mary Adams.

 

Agenda Item #1 - Call to order

 

The meeting was called to order by President Alan McCain. 

 

Agenda Item #2 – Invocation

 

The invocation was given by Bruce Brown.

 

Agenda Item #3 – Pledge of Allegiance

 

Agenda Item #4 – Discuss the redistricting plan.

 

Wayne Kuhn, Attorney, updated the board on the redistricting process.  The final resolution must be submitted by December 31, 2012.

 

Buddy Jenkins, Redistricting Consultant, was not in attendance at tonight’s meeting, therefore the Board discussed the plans and their concerns.   Some concerns were expressed with each plan that was given to them.  We will submit questions to Mr. Jenkins to get some clearer understanding of the redistricting process.

 

A special board meeting was called for September 17, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the redistricting plans further.

 

Agenda Item #5 – Public Input

 

There was no one from the public who attended tonight’s meeting.

 

Agenda Item #6 – Consider a motion to adjourn.

           

It was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded Bruce Brown, that the Board adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously.
