The Washington Parish School Board met in special session on the above date with the following members present: Dan Slocum, Linda Thomas, Mary Adams, Freddie Jefferson, Dewitt Perry, Alan McCain, and Karl Bickham.  Absent: Bruce Brown and Matthew Tate.

 

            Agenda Item #1 - Call to order

 

            The meeting was called to order by President Freddie Jefferson.  He welcomed School Board Attorney Wayne Kuhn, news media and guest.  

 

            Agenda Item #2 - Invocation

 

            The invocation was given by Alan McCain.

 

            Agenda Item #3 - Pledge of Allegiance

 

            Agenda Item #4 – Discuss and take appropriate action regarding GM&R Construction Company’s liquidated damages (Darrell Fairburn).

 

            Upon the recommendation of Superintendent Darrell Fairburn, it was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded by Alan McCain, that the Board accept the liquidated damages as follows:

 

Original NTP Completion Date: May 5, 2006

Date of Substantial Completion: March 15, 2007

Liquidated Damages: @ $500.00 p/day

This is a total liquidated damage of $73,500.00 plus $10,000.00 for the mill work that was not completed as per contract.  Motion carried unanimously.

            It was moved by Dewitt Perry, seconded by Alan McCain, that the Board adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously.
