Agenda Item #6 - Discuss and take appropriate action regarding bids received for the sale of two (2) 1982 GMC Pickups (William Brignac).
William Brignac, Supervisor of Maintenance, reviewed the bids received for the sale of two (2) 1982 GMC Pickups, which were as follows: Benny P. Tate - Truck #1 - $103.00, Truck #2 - $252.00; and Alfred J. Allen - Truck #2 - $301.00. Upon the recommendation of William Brignac, it was moved by Hayward Boone, seconded by Bruce Brown, that the Board accept Benny P. Tate=s bid of $103.00 for Truck #1, and accept Alfred J. Allen=s bid of $301.00 for Truck #2. Motion carried unanimously.
Agenda Item #7 - Discuss and take appropriate action regarding quotations received for providing and installing smoke detectors in classroom corridors at Franklinton High School (William Brignac).
William Brignac, Maintenance Supervisor, reviewed the quotations received for providing and installing smoke detectors in classroom corridors at Franklinton High School, which were as follows: Safe & Sound Alarms, Inc. - $2,800.00; and Educational Electronics Corporation - $3,652.00. Upon the recommendation of William Brignac, it was moved by Freddie Jefferson, seconded by Bruce Brown, that the Board award the contract for providing and installing smoke detectors in classroom corridors at Franklinton High School to Safe & Sound Alarms, Inc., in the amount of $2,800.00. Motion carried unanimously.
Agenda Item #8 - Consider a motion to authorize advertisement for bids for the purchase of Food and Supplies for the School Lunch Program for the 2000/2001 school year (Marsha Newman).
Upon the recommendation of Marsha Newman, School Food Service Supervisor, it was moved by Freddie Jefferson, seconded by Hayward Boone, that the Board authorize advertisement for bids for the purchase of Food and Supplies for the School Lunch Program for the 2000/2001 school year. Agenda Item #11 - Consider a motion to approve Special Education IDEA and Preschool Flow-Through Budgets for the 2000/2001 fiscal year (Pamela Williford).
It was moved by Hayward Boone, seconded by Susanne Jones, that the Board approve Special Education IDEA and Preschool Flow-Through Budgets for the 2000/2001 fiscal year, as recommended by Dr. Pamela Williford, Supervisor of Special Education. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Freddie Jefferson, seconded by Bruce Brown, that the following item be added to the agenda: Consider a motion to advertise for the position of Behavior Interventionist. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Freddie Jefferson, seconded by Susanne Jones, that the Board advertise for the position of Behavior Interventionist (new position for the Special Education program). Motion carried unanimously. Applications will be accepted beginning May 16, 2000, and ending May 24, 2000, at 4:00 P.M.
